What is Aadhaar Number

Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique number which the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) will issue for all residents in India. The number will be store basic demographics and biometric information – photograph, ten fingerprints and iris – of each individual in a central database.

Aadhaar will be Easily verifiable. Unique and robust enough to eliminate the large number of duplicate and fake identities in government and private databases. A random number generated, devoid of any classification based on caste, creed, religion and geography.

* It is a 12 digit number, not only a card
* It is for every individual, including infants. Means each individual of family will have separate Aadhaar UID number
* It enables identification and is for every resident. It doesn’t establishes citizenship and is not only for Indians.
* Getting Aadhaar is voluntary, not mandatory
* It is for every resident, irrespective of existing documentation. Means individuals without identification documents can also get Aadhaar.
* Each individual will be given a single unique Aadhaar ID number. One cannot have multiple Aadhaar numbers.
* Aadhaar UID number can be used by ration card, passport or any ID based application. It will not replace other ID’s.
* UID Authority of India will give ‘yes’ or ‘no’ response for any identification authentication queries. Other information will not be accessible to public and private agencies.

    Any person usually residing in India in the area demarcated by the Registrar General of Citizenship for the purposed of the National population register is entitled to and can choose to apply for AADHAAR by providing their demographic and biometric information in the manner specified by the UIDAI.

    Hi sir your UID (Unique identification )is not perfect project because it not perfect and complete id but take one new project this project include all UID and BVM

    this one is implementing for your BVM (biometric voting machine )and UID some features

    first connect the finger print machine with electronic voting machine our
    finger (thumb) print should have on our
    election voting card while voting. The election voting
    card should put in finger print machine and select the symbol of one party now we should put our finger (thumb) print
    on finger print machine. When the finger print of our thumb
    and finger print on election voting card are matched then
    only our vote valid by using this method we can stop illegal
    voting. and this card filled the your date of birth, blood group,age,address,contact no,DL No or PAN card NO and same your photo this card used every where and this important in banking system and stopped loans s, we used any exams and degree exams and car, bike, truck, license it is a Indian id card like pass port it is use in BPL family’s and agriculturally important to police department some one death person find his/her name and address like just him/her finger touch the finger print machine then Internet tell her/him name and address just five second

    If this aadhar UID no. is only for an extra ID card. What is the necessity additional exercise and wastage of peoples’ money? To obtain 1 aadhar UID every resident is to submit 1 id proof and 1 address, which itself sufficient for day to day life and is acceptable to all departments, authorities and the minds of people. Unless aadhar UID is to made mandatory and also abolish other id cards and to make as an unique id card. Pls do not misguide people through the media that aadhar unique id is provided to all indian resident and will be the base id card for any body. Pls DO make another Press Meet

    there are so many other identification methods. first thing is what ever the systems we want to adopt should be easier for the public. why not make this adahr online. what is that one has to apply by manual methods? why not simplyfy by on-line application and uploading photo also by online and any document can be scanned and uploaded.like PAN card one has to apply online but again you have to send the proof by post ?????.doubts will arise for tampering with scanned documents? if any body want to tamper xerox copies that can be done. introduce heavy penalty for such things.

    i m a Sr.Ctz.residing in Bangalore with my family of 3 adult members altuough we hail from Kolkata.We have applied for adhar cards at Jalahalli P.O bangalore-13 with local voter id,pancard&rental agreement.we have left our Kolkata Poi,Poa except pancards in kolkata.Our names r included in N.P.R in Bangalore.
    Can we incorprate our Kolkata address in Adhar cards 2 b issued from Bangalore on 04/08/11 by giving self declaration?Given the work culture in Kolkata,I dont think we can get our address changed in Kolkata in our lifetime.Kindly advise.

    this will help likewise…..

      person taken loan in one bank and without clearing it he can not apply for loan in any other bank , and IIC
      card displays your voting authority and u r religions this card security in Indian country this card we used life
      time every where it is help full for peoples main work is first we can save peoples fingerprints and address
      photos iris images (soft copy ) and this soft copy send to all polices head office because someone is dead
      when we can identification her / his address like just touched(without IIC) those finger to machine BPM
      (Biometric POLICE machine ) in five seconds this soft copy we used in BANK,RTO,AIRPORT,ATM in
      important place it is perfect IIC and full project

      The mini biometric machine with swapping system this machine we used main department means in RTO,
      AIRPORT, BANK, POILCE Department because when in emergency or we want address proof or more
      information just swap the card touch biometric suddenly we get all information

    When there is an address change, this Aadhar card will not help in establishing the latest address of the card-holder. Mere establishing of identity can be done even by PAN card. If there is a provision for issuance of fresh Aadhar card in case of each address change, the utility of the card will be immense.
